Isn’t it impressive how we are already almost into our third month of the year? With 2023 being a highly anticipated year for a fresh start in the tech industry and PCSVoIP, there are a few VoIP(Voice Over Internet Protocol) or telecommunication trends that are going to stand out in certain businesses. That’s only if they hop on the trend fast enough like us here at PCS.
Cloud Communication
The first anticipated trend for 2023 is cloud communication, which is a feature to “…create scalability by building services that can be ramped up when demand increase[s] and scaled back when outside factors…dictate that business will slow down.” Another positive would be with cloud, you can get new services which would be more likely to result in customer uptake and little or no huge losses in expenses if the new features aren’t insanely popular upon arrival to your business after launch. One example of the new service received would be “Multi-platform Unification”. In an article explaining the benefits, we found that cloud communication can integrate video messaging with clients as well as instant messaging/texting. Another benefit mentioned was “Network Redundancy”. This means you’ll have less of a chance of losing connection either at home or in your office space which will save your IT team time and more productivity if you were to ever lose connection.
AI (Artificial Intelligence)
Another anticipated trend would be the usage of AI. Artificial Intelligence in this case is a computer software to analyze data better than any human could. Having AI comes with easier and more efficient ways to detect fraudulent activity, control network traffic, obtain virtual assistance, and analyze data. One example of how exemplary AI can be is with any customer service department or center. It could easily troubleshoot, let representatives know what an issue is, and also do network maintenance, probably on either end of a call.
“According to the Harvard Business Review, enterprises are primarily using AI to
- Detect and deter security intrusions (44[%])
- Resolve users’ technology issues (41[%])
- Reduce production management work (34[%])
- Gauge internal compliance in using approved vendors (34[%])”
This data above was written in an article from 2017! It is so much more advanced than it was back then and it can be used in many more ways now! AI seems to be the beginning of an incredible journey for the tech industry.
5G
Lastly, the third anticipated trend for 2023 is the addition of 5G and companies using it to expand their features. 5G is an amazing feature to obtain when working with a telecommunications business. 5G is a unification of all previous G tech, from 1G (1980s voice recording) to 4G (high speed mobile phones). 5G can expand the internet broadband further than 4G, giving the client more space for applications and digital services on their devices. There is also better security and stability, so this could be where AI and 5G work together on the VoIP phones. An example of where 5G is being newly used is in remote surgery. I know what you’re thinking. How can a surgery be done remotely without the actual surgeon present? I have no idea but it definitely is currently in the works. After reading an article by Hidaya Aliouche, B.Sc., they say that its “…[a] surgical tool that utilizes both robotic technology and wireless networking to connect patients and surgeons who are geographically distant.” As you can see, 5G can be expanded in many ways and its functionality is improving everyday!
In order to keep up with other businesses who are going through with the following trends, you should follow as well, and be the absolute first when change starts to come around again. I know here at PCSVoIP, we do our best to follow through and only make our business the best it absolutely can be.
